Amanda Cunningham's Treatments Include:Swedish massage - A soothing light to medium pressure full body massage. This massage is ideal for clients who want to have an overall relaxed feeling and they do not need bodywork to address specific acute or chronic pain areas. Deep tissue – This massage is for clients who desire deeper pressure massage or who need therapeutic massage techniques to address specific areas of acute or chronic pain. The massage will be tailored to each client. Pregnancy massage – Pregnancy massage is massage therapy specifically tailored for the expectant mother's needs. It is also called pre-natal massage. The mother's body must be properly positioned and supported during the massage, using pillows and padding. Proper positioning ensures comfort and safety for the mother and baby. Lymphatic drainage – This type of therapy consists of a manual massage. This massage primarily focuses on specific lymph nodes and points of the body, as well as the natural flow of the lymphatic system. To help lymph fluid move through the body, special rhythmic hand strokes are used, which many patients consider very relaxing. Proponents of lymphatic drainage believe that the process will reduce blockages of the lymphatic system, which in turn promotes a healthier body. Fascial Release – The Fascial Release approach is a form of soft tissue therapy used to treat somatic dysfunction and resulting pain and restriction of motion. It is a treatment which uses continual palpatory feedback to achieve release of myofascial tissues. This is accomplished by relaxing contracted muscles, increasing circulation and stimulating the stretch reflex of muscles. P.N.F (Proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation stretching) – It is a combination of passive stretching and isometrics contractions. PNF leg or arm positions encourage flexibility and coordination throughout the limb's entire range of motion. PNF is used to supplement daily stretching and is employed to make quick gains in range of motion to help athletes improve performance. Good range of motion makes better biomechanics, reduces fatigue and helps prevent overuse injuries. Hot Stone and Relaxation - Available to add to the Swedish or Therapeutic/Deep Tissue massages above that are 60 minutes or longer. Hot stones feel wonderful and are comforting and deeply relaxing. Hot stones are laid on the body and are also used to massage the body. Contact Amanda at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . |
